Xaver77
Hello everyone, I need your help. I want to create a tool in which I only have to click a button once and the tool is executed. In principle like the magnifying glass tool with which I can center the drawing with one click. Which function do I have to choose for this? Quote Link to comment
Peter Vandewalle
This sounds more like a command. Typically in Vectorworks, commands are menu commands. You can of course attach a keyboard shortcut to a command. Tools and Objects always need a click in the drawing to execute. Quote Link to comment
Xaver77
Maybe I should call it a switch button where I can turn the light on or off like a light switch. In this case, of course, with a function, e.g. show or hide classes. Quote Link to comment
Sam Jones
I'm pretty sure you will need to do this with a command and put it in a workspace with a keystroke. With a tool, you're going to have to select the tool and then click somewhere to activate it. While I have created point and path objects and tools to place them, I have never created a pure tool, something that acts on something else, so maybe there is a way, but I'm pretty sure you will need a command.
