So this one is hard to comprehend, and is making it so I cannot trust my drawings.  I am getting different dimensions for the same elements.  For example, I create a line on one layer that is a given dimension, switch to another layer and snap to the same points, and the line is a different dimension.  Now I cannot be sure of the size of the drawings.  I have included a screen shot to show what I mean.  The dimensions are on two different layers, both layers are at the same layer scale.

Your screen shot shows you dimensioning two different things.


The larger dimension is dimensioning to the outside of the wall.


The smaller dimension is dimensioning the line. The line appears to have been created to the inside of the outer component(s) of the wall. 


To me the dimensions appear correct.
