Jim Smith
If I print an individual Sheet as a PDF, Classes & Layers that show as grey are, well, grey however; if I Publish the same Viewport the Grey shows up as b&w. Is this a bug, a feature or am I not holding my mouth correctly? Edited August 1, 2021 by Jim Smith 1 Quote Link to comment
Jeff Prince
Sounds like you have fallen victim of the infamous Publish->PDF->PDF settings vs Print discrepancy within Vectorworks. Change the "Grey Level for Grayed Layers and Classes" to a different percentage and see if it suits you needs. 40% is usually good for me. 1 Quote Link to comment
Jim Smith
Thanks Jeff, but in VW2019, I can only change this from the Export PDF only results in Changing the Grey level on a Export of a single Sheet basis, essentially the same thing as print PDF. There may be another place to find this setting, but the ironically named "Help" does not list this nor does looking in the usual locations. You may note that the Button on the bottom reads EXPORT & not SAVE. Any other tips? Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
In the Publish dialog box there is a button labeled Options... next to the publish file format. Click that and you get the same dialog box as you show above excel the button is OK instead of Export. From there you can set the Grey level for the published files. 1 Quote Link to comment
Jim Smith
Thanks for helping me find that Pat! Not so much a crit. as an observation. Seems like this should be pretty straightforward thing in Preferences. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
It could be in presences, but then it would not be part of a given print set. I think the idea is to let the user set the options for each print set individually. And then when you recall a print set it will remember all of the settings. Not certain I can explain WHY someone might want different greys on different sheets or different print sets, but I am sure there are people who do. Quote Link to comment
