GregG
That would be great to addition to VW functionality. 1 Quote Link to comment
line-weight
In the ideal world though, make this part of wall/roof/floor objects, so all the info is contained in the 3d object and appears in any section of that object. Adding stuff in 2d only, always feels like a workaround to me. 1 Quote Link to comment

I need to separate objects graphically in details in order to show membranes, flashing, sealants, etc. There is no feasible way to generate these details directly from a 3D model that is built accurately. At best, I can use the model as an underlay, turning off all layers/classes except the structural elements. Detailing in 2D is a “must have” and from what I’ve seen the OzCad Detailer would be a huge addition to my VW workflow. Quote Link to comment

Agreed that it'll probably never be realistic to model everything in 3d - and I'm not arguing against the detailer being made available - but there is certain stuff, like telling the 2d detailer that a timber frame wall has studs every 450mm, that ought really to be something that we can tell the 3d wall object, and then gets shown in sections without further intervention being necessary. I think in this case it really needs to come from a revamped wall framer feature as discussed elsewhere, in order that studs are shown in correct places in regards to start + end of walls, at openings, under beams, etc. Otherwise you can just use a Tile Fill to do it already. 12 hours ago, E|FA said: I need to separate objects graphically in details in order to show membranes, flashing, sealants, etc. Be interested to see an example if you were happy posting? For me building sections and section details are two different things with different workflows. I agree that building sections should have much better indication and controls of structural and framing objects. However, that’s a bit off topic for a thread with a request to incorporate OzCad’s 2D Detailer into VW similar to WinDoor. Quote Link to comment
