Roof / Roof face - Change a cut out opening

Hello
Is it possible to make a hole in a roof smaller again or to close it completely?
It was previously punched out with "Delete/cut surface"...
Haven't found a way to do this yet...

With roof object selected go to Modify>Edit Group and delete 2D shape that was used to punch out hole . Exit group.

It works, but the consequence of this action is, that the roof gets split up to roof faces this way.

We'll lose the benefits of the roof...

I have to see if I can live with that.

@Mi&D don't Ungroup the Roof object + it won't become Roof Faces. Just run the 'Edit Group' command as @drelARCH says + in the edit mode you will have access to the Polygon you used to clip the Roof. Edit/delete the polygon then exit the edit mode + the roof remains a Roof object

It's ridiculous that to edit a roof object, you have to choose a command "edit group". How is a user supposed to guess that? Not only is a roof object not called a group, but it doesn't behave anything like a group.

I only discovered this function quite recently in an obscure post written some time ago. I've never seen it mentioned anywhere else. I agree it's crazy that something so fundamental to the function of the tool isn't properly listed/publicised

Thanks. I agree that it's quite tricky to get there. 

 

Anyway, there is another "riddle" I can't solve.

I need to get the 2 roof ridges of a trapezoidal dormer perpendicular to the fascia.

I can't seem to find the geometrical - mathematical way to construct this.

May you have an idea? It must have something to do with roof slopes

and intersections between related faces...
