Macbook Pro Sleep Mode

spries

Question

I switched to a MacBook Pro (16in) and it doesn't go into sleep mode when I close it.

After a bit digging on the web I cam across the activity monitor and it shows that CINEWARE is the only application that shows "YES" on preventing sleep mode. (See attached screenshot)

I am wondering if that is the reason it drains my battery and gets super hot in my backpack.

Also attached the general laptop info.

How can I switch CINEWARE to "NO" on the sleep prevention?

I had no problems getting my Big Sur Macs get to sleep with VW.

I know that C4D has a setting for preventing system sleep but AFAIK

that is meant only when actively rendering, which makes sense.

From time to time I have problems with my M1 Mini awakening directly

after putting to sleep.

1. when you accidentally touch and move your mouse a few seconds

after sleep (I think that was a new "feature" of Big Sur or Catalina)

2. depending on Beta Driver state of 3D Connexion devices, either

old 3D Space Navigator or Enterprise immediately awake my Mac.

3. there may other Settings, e.g. wake on LAN that may awake the

M1 Mini or Monitor again from time to time.

(I even fear that when I enter the Room with an iPhone or open my

iPad the M1 Mini will awake a bit or reawake the Monitor for a second)

But Jim Wilsoe once stated that developers warned about system sleep

with VW running, could crash VW or damage the File.

I had no problems with VW and sleep on Mac, not so sure about Windows

sleep, which can freeze my whole PC in general, but at least Bricscad

on Mac, will very likely crash after a system sleep when a file was open.
