scale text/dimension in viewports

Rob Kwak

Question

I would like to scale text and dimensions in my viewports.

I draw 1:20 on my design layer including text and dimensions and make a viewport in 1:20

Now I would like my details in other viewports to be 1:5 with matching size of text and dimensions.

i.e. in both viewport the text and dimensions are the same size.

When I use advanced properties of the viewport the size of the text and dimensions does not change.

Is there a special setting for viewport, text or dimensions with I should apply in order to make this work ?

Viewports have an option in the Object Info Palette called Advanced Properties. From there you can set a scaling factor for the text size and different line weights.  Set the text scale factor to 5/20 (0.25) and you should have you text the same in both viewports.

Text in annotation does not scale, but should enter at the same size.

Hi Pat, I found out that the problem is a apple thing.

When I open the file on a PC I can change text scale.

When I save it and open it on a Apple the text scale is unchanged.

I think I will work around it by unchecking the dimension class in the viewport and ad dimension in the annotation of the viewport.

Thnx for looking into my question
