Rob Kwak
I would like to scale text and dimensions in my viewports. I draw 1:20 on my design layer including text and dimensions and make a viewport in 1:20 Now I would like my details in other viewports to be 1:5 with matching size of text and dimensions. i.e. in both viewport the text and dimensions are the same size. When I use advanced properties of the viewport the size of the text and dimensions does not change. Is there a special setting for viewport, text or dimensions with I should apply in order to make this work ? Quote Link to comment
0 Pat Stanford
Viewports have an option in the Object Info Palette called Advanced Properties. From there you can set a scaling factor for the text size and different line weights. Set the text scale factor to 5/20 (0.25) and you should have you text the same in both viewports. Text in annotation does not scale, but should enter at the same size. Quote Link to comment
0 Rob Kwak
I know about the Advanced Options palette. I changed the size to .25 but text scale in the viewport stays the same. Lineweight changes but text doesn't. Is there is setting for text/dimension needed ? Quote Link to comment
0 Rob Kwak
in adition : in explaining the parameters of the advanced properties it says only associated viewport text is changed scale. What is associated viewport text ? thnx Quote Link to comment
0 Pat Stanford
I think that what that actually means is that text that is on the design layer and seen in the first viewport will be scaled in the detail viewport. Text that is in the Annotations of the first viewport will not be scaled in the detail viewport. Quote Link to comment
0 Rob Kwak
So why is line weight scale and line type scale working and text scale not ? Is there a special setting for text in order to work ? Edited June 21, 2021 by Rob Kwak Quote Link to comment
0 Pat Stanford
I don't know. Can you post the file so we can take a look? Quote Link to comment
0 Rob Kwak
Hi Pat, I found out that the problem is a apple thing. When I open the file on a PC I can change text scale. When I save it and open it on a Apple the text scale is unchanged. I think I will work around it by unchecking the dimension class in the viewport and ad dimension in the annotation of the viewport. Thnx for looking into my question 1 Quote Link to comment

I would like to scale text and dimensions in my viewports.

i.e. in both viewport the text and dimensions are the same size.
When I use advanced properties of the viewport the size of the text and dimensions does not change.
Is there a special setting for viewport, text or dimensions with I should apply in order to make this work ?
