mikie
Hi there. How do I create dual pitch rooves in VWA10? The prefs only seem to support single pitch. Thanks Mike Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted May 18, 2003 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 18, 2003 Mikie, the VW Roofer supports only single pitched roofs at this time. You can create additional roof elements using the Roof Face tool. Quote Link to comment

Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted May 19, 2003 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 19, 2003 I misspoke. It's not a tool, it's a command called "Roof Face..." You draw a polygon and select this command which turns it into a roof face, which is a sloping slab with an eave definition line. Quote Link to comment
P Retondo
What I do is create a regular gable roof, ungroup it so that I have two roof planes. You can then edit one to change the pitch, and reposition it from a front or side view so that the ridge points meet. Quote Link to comment

D Wood
There is a manual called "Dealing With Roofs" written by Jonathan Pickup - go to http://archoncad.co.nz. It's brilliant, leaves the VW manual for dead. Quote Link to comment
Guest
You should be able to change the pitch of a roof face using the Create Roof From... command. Once the roof is created using a universal pitch .. select the roof, mouse over one of the selection handles coordinating with the face you want to change- - and click on it. A dialog box pops up allowing you to change the roof pitch of that roof face. Quote Link to comment
