ChadL
Hi All, Is there a way to change the stacking order of objects drawn? I am making a line with some text on it, and I can't seem to figure out how to get the text on top of the line. Thanks, Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Does Modify > Send > Send to Front work? You may want to give the text a solid fill so it obscures the line. Quote Link to comment
Jesse Cogswell
In the past, I've used the Ordered List node to sort stacking order, working from bottom to top (item0 is bottom layer, item8 is top). There used to be a correlation between the actual stacking order of the nodes to establish drawing order, but at least starting in VW2019, drawing order became kind of random. The Ordered List is the only way I've been able to consistently dictate order. Quote Link to comment
ChadL
@michaelk, I'm trying to do it within the Marionette. I can change the order after I run the script, but trying to avoid that. @jesse, That worked, thanks! Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee SBarrettWalker Posted June 7, 2021 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted June 7, 2021 The sure way I have found to set the stacking order of objects is after they are created, you put them through an ordered list node, put that list through a group node, and then an ungroup node. The group node puts a copy of each object in the group and deletes the original, so the objects are recreated in the appropriate order. 1 Quote Link to comment
STA
I've had the same issue and found help here: Quote Link to comment
