Object Stacking Order

Recommended Posts

In the past, I've used the Ordered List node to sort stacking order, working from bottom to top (item0 is bottom layer, item8 is top).  There used to be a correlation between the actual stacking order of the nodes to establish drawing order, but at least starting in VW2019, drawing order became kind of random.  The Ordered List is the only way I've been able to consistently dictate order.

The sure way I have found to set the stacking order of objects is after they are created, you put them through an ordered list node, put that list through a group node, and then an ungroup node. The group node puts a copy of each object in the group and deletes the original, so the objects are recreated in the appropriate order.
