Vectorworks screen placeholder

I've moved from VWA 2016 to VWA 2021 and when closing drawings down a fuzzy blue screen placeholder more or less fills the screen. It's quite annoying as you then have to click to minimise it. Is this an 'improvement' that Vectorworks has introduced and is there a way not to have it?

In the Window menu uncheck "Application Window".

 

The Application Window consolidates multiple open drawings into a single tabbed interface so that your drawings and palettes move together as a single object.

 

I  really like working that way. It is different than the older (but still available) multiple windows but works better for me.

Yes it's handy to be able to toggle between different drawings that are open, but it's a pain to have a placeholder hanging around when there are not any drawings open.

Command-H will hide Vectorworks. You can get it back by selecting it from the dock.

 

Or click the yellow button at the top left to minimize the "placeholder" into the dock until you need it.

True that Command H hides it, I can live with that, I just would have preferred to to have that extra click to make every time!

Better one extra click to hide everything of VW rather than having 6 to 10 palettes hanging around.  ;-)

I have command H programmed to a key on my Kensington Expert Trackball... use it to deal with several application that have a persistent screen presence.
