LeeElston
I have created a symbol for a sliding door which in 3d correctly cuts/breaks the wall, but for the 2d view the wall is cut for the full width of the symbol, even the parts which sit outside the line of the wall. I have tried changing the 'break' in the OIP. Is there way of selecting what is cut out in 2d mode as there is in 3d? Thanks in advance Quote Link to comment
zoomer
So a custom Door as a Symbol - inserted to a Wall. Not a Door PIO. In case of a Symbol, you can add a custom Geometry for the break through in 3D, inside the Symbols Wall cut Space. And if that does not work for 2D, you can try to add 2 points in Symbols 2D Space. 1st for start and 2nd point for the end of the cut. Quote Link to comment
LeeElston
I inserted 2 'points' (2d loci) which has cut the wall correctly, but the other objects (jams and leaf) have now vanished. I assume I just need to draw these in 2d.?... Quote Link to comment
zoomer
Hmmh, I think yes, you need to draw the 2D part (or let VW create from the 3D part for you ? could be done, beside for Top View for Elevations as well) And possibly organize the 2D Drawing for the new Level of Detail Setting. Or is it already just a problem of LOD, showing wrong or no Door in 2D. As I am wondering why you can even see it in the first Drawing !? (Or ist it a real horizontal Section's Top View ?)
