Custom 2d symbols

Ok, I have read a lot on this subject, and understand much. I have an interesting problem though.

I create a 2d symbol, a green circle on the bottom of the stack, with red circles for berries on top. I save this symbol in the special symbols folder.

I edit the plant catalog, create a new definition using the symbol, and edit the plant catalog.

I then click the plant placement tool, and the graphic is placed, but the colors are all wrong.

What am I doing wrong here! I have tried everything, and all the files that I have imported with custom 2d symbols do not do this.

The "green circle" is not green, correct? But the red berries are OK I bet. The backmost object in the symbol picks up the colors assigned to the plant object in the Attributes palette. If you want a fixed color for your plant, duplicate the green circle and send to back.
