krw
exporting to .dwg, get the error message used to seeing with the purge command (This action cannot be undone.....click Ok), go thru the export dialog box - Exporting "File Name" with Getting Options displayed above a motionless progress bar with a spinning globe....eventually have to force quit. ?? vw10.1/os10.2.4 Quote Link to comment
Guest
Depending on what is in the VW file, the export function can take a good bit of time to complete. The message about not able to be undone, is what you should get. How large is the VW file you are exporting? How long do you wait before force quiting? Quote Link to comment
krw
The file is only 200kb, but it contains 16-20 hex bolts, washers & nuts (as pios). would that make a difference? on osX, the spinning globe worked for 5 min+ on this file, and then we force quit. on 9.2.2, the file exported Ok. Guest
It will take more than 5 minutes to convert those objects to an object DXF/DWG will be able to read. If you let it sit for more than 30 minutes and it has made no progress what so ever, please email the file to me so I can further investigate it. tech@nemetschek.net SUBJECT: Attn: Katie Quote Link to comment
skoorbb
Why the difference between OS 9 & 10? What if we don't need the object itself to be converted to an object that .dwg can read? and we only need the lines of the object to show up? Does the "Decompose 3D Objects" in the export dialog box allow pios not to be exported as objects? Quote Link to comment
Guest
Decompose 3d can do that, so can convert to lines command. That will convert the objects in the drawing to lines, if all you need sent out are lines. I can't explain why the difference between os 9 and 10 exactly. THere's so many things different between the OS's and the way the processor handles different functions. Quote Link to comment
