Mark Aceto
Seemed to have missed the "how to" on this one... OK, I was able to copy the imported PDF, and then "Paste as Bitmap" but I'm not sure how to convert the bitmap to a texture (from within the file vs importing an image). Jeff Prince
@Mark Aceto Probably faster and easier to convert the pdf to a png outside of Vectorworks and then import that image as a resource. 2 Quote Link to comment
Mark Aceto
@jeff prince indeed--just took a few min in Illustrator. Next: guessing I'll have to map the wall texture to the doors (or each door) separately and realign plan manually? Quote Link to comment
Mark Aceto
Guess not, and I'll be extruding new leaves for that: Quote Link to comment
Jeff Prince
@Mark Aceto Seeing as you are on a Mac, you know you can convert PDFs to PNGs in Preview right? You could even knock those doors and windows out in Preview using the select tool and deleting them. edit: You could even just select a portion of the texture in preview and make a PNG out of that to use as a texture, simple. Mark Aceto
@jeff prince I never would have guessed Preview was so powerful useful! I'm not sure how to select and delete objects though. The black rectangles are me masking the client's logo, etc. I"m actually trying to map this art proof to the construction wall, so my design team can scale and align the copy around the seams / joints, which is why I want to map the texture to the doors (aligned with the wall texture). Jeff Prince
@Mark Aceto It really is super useful for converting pdfs to images, minor editing, and marking up. All you have to do to select things is to click and drag a rectangle. You can reshape the rectangle afterwards if you need to get precise. Removing selected items by hitting the delete key. Automatic alpha channel too. 1 Quote Link to comment
