Insert in 2D a view from a 3D element

I am trying to print a PDF of a page that shows both 2D lines and a 3D details... similar to the example attached. Basically a window/mask that shows a 3D isometric view of an 3D element draw within the same file...

Is it possible?

Yes, this is what Sheet Layer viewports are for. If the viewport next to your pasteup is a Sheet Layer viewport, you could easily Option-Drag it to make a copy and then change its View to Isometric.
