Export as DWG - Sheet layer only

Is there a way to only export the sheet layer to DWG. We have to often send DWG's to other people involved in the project but don't want to give them all the information on the design layers.

In the DXF/DWG Export options dialogue choose "Selected Sheets" and "Export Viewports as 2d graphics in Model space".

This wil export only the chosen sheets and create a 2D symbol for each viewport.

Would be great if this worked. But on my machine it creates CAD files that are missing most of the annotations and dimensions in the annotation space. Not to mention including tons of irrelevant data from uncropped design layers as blocks. FORTUNATELY sharing DWG files isn't something one does regularly as an architect... right?
