Changes Don't Show Until I Pan or Zoom

smoon

Question

I don't use VW as much anymore, so I'm not sure when this started happening.

But when I move an object, or make a parameter change, the change does not show on VW unless I pan around or zoom in/out. It's really frustrating and makes it hard to work. Same thing with changing views, if I go from 3D to Top/Plan, or do "shift+c" to go into orbit, the view doesn't change until I move around. VW never used to function this way.

I've already tried doing a clean install and the issue still persists.

*EDIT: I'm running VW 2019 SP6 on macOS Big Sur 11.2.3....however I know this has been happening before SP6 and before I went to Big Sur.

I had just similar problems after I opened 2 files at the same time

from within Windows Explorer.

(something I normally don't do, just File : > Open)

The first file that opened was OK.

But the second file didn't show any Selection Marquees or OIP changes

until I changed the View. Also switching betewen 2D Top Plan / 3D View,

saving, switching between files or between Apps did not help.

Basically it did everything but won't let you see before changing the View.

Only closing the particular file and reopen made it working again

That didn't work for me unfortunately. Also to note, I'm on Mac OS.

Even when I open a file, it's just a completely blank screen until I pan or zoom. Then everything shows. It's really frustrating.

It was more like an addition.

As we had non reacting OIPs or object manipulations that won't show, renderings

that show old geometry status, ... in the past.

Now, lots of disappearing or invisible objects in openGL, again passive OIP, problems

to select objects, ... I thought I should add my similar but maybe unique experience.

Because maybe it is somehow related or helps to solve it.

VW2019 is not rated to be compatible with Big Sur.

It doesn't matter if you were having this problem before to not, you are almost guaranteed to have problems with the setup you are now running.

This image shows a chart of Windows operating systems, not Macintosh.  I couldn't find a similar chart for Mac OS and Vectorworks versions?

I was running 2019 on Mojave, but now on Monterey I have to zoom in or out to get the screen to refresh.
