Sam Jones
Is it possible for VS to get the structural units of a .vwx file? Quote Link to comment
JBenghiat
You can use https://developer.vectorworks.net/index.php/VS:OLDMassRealToStr and the other similar commands. Anywhere the mass gets stored, the units are in grams. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted April 15, 2021 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 15, 2021 You can access them using the Get/SetPref calls using the indexes listed here: https://developer.vectorworks.net/index.php/VS:Function_Reference_Appendix_F#Structural_Units Quote Link to comment
Sam Jones
The URL is what I needed. Even after emptying the cache, I can't get Safari to go to that version of the online Function Reference without clicking on the URL shown above. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted April 16, 2021 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 16, 2021 I was having the same issue and I asked the developer in charge of the WIKI to investigate the problem. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Structural Units are also included in the off-line (local) version of the Vectorscript Appendix installed with Vectorworks. Applications/Vectorworks2021/VWHelp/Script Reference/Appendix/appendix.html Quote Link to comment
Sam Jones
Not in my local 2021 version, but I'll go back and download and see if I get something newer. Edited April 17, 2021 by Sam Jones Quote Link to comment
tbexon
Resurrecting this topic, as I this has just answered my own question, though I think i've spotted a potential error Developer Preference Wiki page. Structural Mass units the Preference selector is listed as 9821, however from what I can tell it should actually be 6821. 9821 returns 0 every time, whereas 6821 returns the expected results. Not sure who to poke about this? Quote Link to comment
Maarten DE
Thanks @tbexon, good catch! I've adjusted it. It seems those other 9... where wrong too, I changed them to 6... too. 1 Quote Link to comment
