sullymon64
Having a difficult time doing a simple task. Install a window into a wall and then being able to see through it. What are my missing? I have scoured the user guide, but can't make it work. Any help would be appreciated. Using version 9.5.1 Thanks Tim Quote Link to comment
Robert Anderson
The window glass attributes are set by the 'Style-Glazing #' classes. When windows are created they create the 'Style-Glazing 1' class. You can optionally set the glazing to 'Style-Glazing 2' or 3. Just turn the class fill off on 'Style-Glazing 1' and your windows should be tranparent. Multiple glazing styles allow different shades of glass and allow you to turn off transparency (when you're creating building elevations and don't want to see the detail inside, for example.) sullymon64
I am familiar with selecting the various glaze options in the Object window, but how do I change the parameters of the particular glazes. None of the 3 that were available were clear glass???? Thanks Tim Quote Link to comment
mike46
Hi sullymon the glazing styles when used create a class by the same name whose attributes can be edited in the classes dialog , just set the fill to none and you get transparent glass Mike Quote Link to comment
jfmarch
What I do when modelling a building with windows is simply turn off all the style classes for glazing. In that way the windows appear transparent, except for any muntin pattern you configure. Quote Link to comment
sullymon64
OK, Thanks I can now make them completly disappear, but I can't seem to get to the menu that allows you to adjust reflection, etc. It looks like it is all or nothing??? Thanks Tim Quote Link to comment
nic
sullymon: if you create a new texture and create it to the transparency/colour your require; then in turn create a new class for your windows that uses that particular texture at creation. put the windows in the class and set the texture to class texture. that *should* give you freedom of adjustment of your windows. make sure Custom Renderworks is set to "use transparency" always, nic.
