PDF creation error

hollister design Studio

Question

I was recently told that best practices are to not print directly from VW.

I have started publishing to PDF and then printing from acrobat.

Now I seem to be getting this error in acrobat:

"An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly.

Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem."

Any thoughts?

Files are printing fine from acrobat and appear fine too.

I'm willing to just ignore the error...

Hmm, these are 1/4"=1'-0" or 1/2"=1'-0" scale.

I do zoom out to 100% to look them over before printing, but never so small as 5%

They are mostly plans and detail elevations with small hidden line renders - maybe the renders are the culprit?

I've noticed the error message only shows after I hit print in Acrobat, not just when opening it.

Like I said , they print fine, so no issue - just a heads up.

I am having this same issue in 2024. Any solutions?

I have solved it, I had an issue with an illegal character from using ALT Codes for special characters, i.e ² Ø  ▼ → .

To troubleshoot I exported the pdf with rasterized text, and found their was no error on printing having done that. I "Selected All" on the design layer that was giving me the error, and changed all objects to "Arial" font in the "Text" menu bar. Then I scoured the text for any funky characters, and found a few empty squares and error characters. Deleting them and switching my file back to my firm's preferred font produced no more errors.
