So how do I get the keyboard short cuts back?

I find that short cuts that worked under 8.5 no longer work under 9.5. I've tried to use the workspace editor to assign keys but either I don't know what I'm doing (likely) or many functions now can't have short cuts. Examples. j = wall join. All choices are greyed out. I also can't assign a key for the select straight wall. The editor indicates it can be done, but there seems to be no way to effectuate the new assignment.

Would appreciate some wise person shedding light on this.

It could be that the shortcut combination you want for a particular menu item or tool is already in use by another function. There is a list of the preset shortcuts in the appendix of the User's Guide. Check to see if the shortcut you want is in use by something else.

If you go to use a command by shortcut and can't do it, then go to the menu to see that it's greyed out, then you probably do not have the corect type of objects selected.

Referece the user's guide to ensure you are correctly selecting objects and executing the command.
