Cesar
Hi, I am a new VW user and have some problems with the Floor Elevations settings. I assume the plan is for a 1 story house with slab foundation. The slab will be the ground zero. The wall framing will be using 2x4x10 studs (real length of the stud is 9'6") The house will have simple sole plate and double top plate which will place the roof bearing level at 9'6+4.5" = 9'10.5"The slab foundation will be 3' deep from ground zero. I use the "Floor to Floor" Wall Height with the settings: Slab Thickness = 12" Floor1 Elevation = 9'10.5" Floor1 Ceiling = 9'10.5" Foundation = 3' Roof = 9'10.5" I have 2 questions: 1) These settings don't work. What would be the correct settings? 2)What does the Slab Thickness represent in this case? Thank you for your help Cesar Quote Link to comment
rl
cesar, you have two(2) elevations per layer.1. bottom z2. delta zIf your slab is 12" thick and bottom Z is 0, then bottom elevation of your wall is 12". Wall height of 9'-10 1/2" + 12" (10-10 1/2")will equal top of wall. In order to set your foundation 3' below ground level (0) elevation, you must enter it with a - sign before the number. Ex: -3' for bottom z. If you want to have one foot of foundation above ground level (0), then you need to make your foundation wall 4' tall (delta z). Or draw a floor at 1' thick and sit on top of foundation wall.I hope this helpsrl Quote Link to comment
