Curved Corner in a Curved Frame

Recommended Posts

Hello! I want to create a curved corner in this frame but I'm not sure how.

It is supposed to be the same as the one next to it but this wall is curved.

I've already converted all the lines of the frame into NURBS and they are already composed into one object. (I will later use it as a path to extrude a profile along).

I'm just not sure how to do that curved bit. I created those spheres there just to visualize where the curves need to go.

Can anyone help me? Thanks!

Using your original path and some circles, you can create a solid subtraction that has a face surface that contains the curves you need.

From there, extract in "extract curve" mode to get your curves.

This probably won't result in a good EAP path to use, depending on your profile.

So use the split tool to divide the long bottom and top curves in half.

Use show direction for each of the curves and insure they are all pointing in the same direction.

Grab the curves representing one half of the molding, Modify -> Compose to generate 1/2 of the path you need.

EAP

mirror the result in plan view

maybe solid add to combine them, but unlikely due to the curve.

just throw the two halves on the same class and group them.

mission accomplished.
