Fancy a game of eveBIM anyone?

Question

Hello

We are working on a project where our IFCs are being viewed in eveBIM.

Normally we check IFC output in Solibri, and eveBIM is fairly new to us.

Our policy thus far has been to validate the IFC using Solibri.  eveBIM has thrown a bit of a spanner in the works.

If you don't know eveBIM, it is quite fussy.

Whereas an IFC will open fine in Solibri, it does not always open in eveBIM.

This is good and bad.

Good because it encourages you to find out what is causing the error.

For example, today's error message is:

Unable to read IFC stream :
ERROR: Inverse links : Error during reading parameter 4 of IfcRelDefines, line 1
ERROR: Unexpected entity name : IFCRELDEFINESBYPROPERTIES , line 1

which seems to occur when choosing to export an IFC with 'Quantity Take Off' ticked, and bad because it wastes a huge amount of time trying to find the error due to the way the software obfuscate the error codes.

The other issue with eveBIM is that it does not always read storey levels correctly, but not all the time.

Anyone else care to share their experience with eveBIM?

Would that I had hair!
