Phil hunt
Hi Do associated dimensioning only work with walls within a viewport. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
As far as I know Associative Dimensions in Viewports work with all the same objects as on Design Layers. But they only work at "points" (vertices, insertion points, etc.) You can't randomly set an associative dimension to a point say 1/3 of the way along a line. Quote Link to comment
Tom W.
But Walls are the only Plug-in Object they work with I think, if that's the question being asked Quote Link to comment
Phil hunt
For instance if I had a simple square say 2m x 2m extruded to 3m and then made elevations in a viewport with dimensions but then changed the extrusion to 4m in my design layer would the dimension change to correspond with the new size back in the viewport...... Tom W.
I don't think it works with 3D objects, just 2D objects + Walls Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Tom is correct Associative Dimensions use the standard Constraints. Even on a Design Layer only 2D (or Hybrid) object can use constraints (or associative dimensions). And only in Top/Plan view. Quote Link to comment
