archdaly
Is there any way to snap to a specific axis when manipulating objects in 3d similar to the feature offered in Sketchup? If not is there a way to WishList this request? It would make moving objects in 3d space SO much more streamlined. Quote Link to comment
markdd
If you press the T key while moving the item, the axis should remain locked. Edited March 10, 2021 by markdd 1 Quote Link to comment
archdaly
is this when grabbing an object to move? I see it locking the axis but the object doesn't want to move... EDIT: Ok so I've messed with a few of my shortcut keys (can anyone advise which tool/key I should be searching for to reset it?? Edited March 10, 2021 by archdaly Quote Link to comment
markdd
I'm pretty certain it locks the item to the extension line that is created when you move an item. Step 1 select and move the item Step 2 press the T key The extension line will be locked and the item will only travel along that line. It all relies on the extension lines being activated as the T key is linked to acquiring Smart Points and creating extension lines from the edge of objects and lines. Hope that works for you. Seems to work here fine. Edited March 10, 2021 by markdd 1 Quote Link to comment
