1. Select your extrude2. Hit cmd-[ or choose "enter group" from the Organize menu.3. You're looking at the original shape you extruded. Select it if it's not already selected, choose "Convert to polygon" off the Tool menu, then use the 2D Reshape tool to change or add curved points, etc.

Understanding the power of the 2D reshape tool is one key to becoming a VectorWorks expert.

I don't know what type of object you are trying to make, but I have made three examples here --

If you want to draw the first one, you need to start with a square, extrude it. Then select the hemisphere tool from the 3d tools palette under the sphere tool. Then create that as the curved top. When you have it positioned just so, you may have to go and edit the sphere so it's the correct size. I did this with subtracting several extruded rectangles placed just so. Once you have the hemisphere cut and sized and placed correctly over the extruded rectangle, select both objects. Go to Model>Add Solids. This will connect the two objects into one.

If you want the second one, you do something similar to the above. I drew a square, extruded it. Then I drew a hemisphere. I used the mirror tool to mirror it along the horizontal axis from a front view. Then I selected both objects, went to Model>Subtract Solids and selected the square as my subtract from object.

If you want the third one, I drew that with the polyline tool. Then I converted it to a polygon. Once it was a polygon, I was able to extrude it to the desired height.
