BUG: First Click On New Objects Doesn't Stay Anchored?

It seems that if I create any object on top of any arc object (I.e., circle) the origin point of my first click doesn't remain. Super weird behavior. New in 2021 for sure. Anyone else seeing this? 

 

Ideas?

Luckily for you, this is pretty simple.  What you are seeing is "Snap to Tangent" active.  On your snapping palette, toggle off the last one, which should be displaying a circle with a tangent line.

 

There are great uses for this snap, but they're few and far between.  I generally have that snap off until I need it.

The first time I needed to get a tangent line on a circle, I used that snap.  It was amazing!  I thought to myself, "this is great!  I'm going to have this snap on all the time!"  The I tried to do exactly what you did and immediately regressed to, "well, there goes VW being buggy and broken again."  Took me a couple of sessions to discover that it was my new favorite snap that caused that behavior, and that it was very much by design.
