Interactive Origin Mode 'LOCK' button.

I would like a "lock / unlock" option on the tool bar. 

Pros:

• no more phantom origin changes.

Cons:

• one more click to set an origin point.

 

Reason for request:

I use 'interactive origin mode' for the flyover tool and one of the main frustrations I have is that after I've set it to a point, it seems to 'wander' quite often.

 

I set my origin by shift+c and clicking on the desired origin point and then returning to the selection tool with the "X" key.

I then use the MMB+ctrl keyboard shortcut to access the flyover tool.

The origin seems to eventually wander after that, especially after switching to top/plan view and back.

 

This could be because I'm working fast and actually have 'clicked' just before I've released the MMB - it really doesn't matter.

What does matter is that I'm often right in the middle of modeling and my screen veers wildly off center as I tumble around this new un-desired / un-intentional point of origin...
