Selecting Similar Symbols

Using the Select Similar tool I was just going through a drawing selecting all my shrubs to put them on a separate layer.

 

I have the preferences set to "Other Attributes/Object Type" and it works fine.

Yet I still had to find each instance of every shub in the drawing manually.

 

Is there a way to select with plant symbol Tags?

All (or at least most) of my plants have tags like PLNT, SHRB, BLUE, etc

 

Is there a way to search with 'symbol name ' and use wild cards such as  "SHRB*"?

All my symbols are names with tiered descriptions -  i.e. "SHRB-Lucadendron salignum-Blush"

You can try using the attached worksheet to list and find all objects in a class. There are some instructions on the worksheet itself if you are not used to working with them.
