Subtracting Solids function in a extracted derformed 3D shape

Hi community,

I was wondering if there is a way to subtract a portion of an extracted and deformed circle via the "subtract solid function"?

What I'm attempting to do is to keep the shape but crop the back off. When I attempt to do this I end up destroying the original shape.

Am I missing something?

OK so they both need to be either an extrude or a solid they must not be a group or symbol.. Try converting them to a solid first and then try the subtract command.

If they are both solids try checking the box hat says retain and see if you can remove the piece you are looking for.

You should also have a look in the 3d power pack menu as there will likely be a command in their which should work.
