dat
i understand that by loading the aia standards you obtain the class structure, however i also noticed that colors, penweights, etc. do not load as well ... why not? Quote Link to comment
Juice
I am also wondering why the line weights do not come in as a fixed standard as well...is this an "AIA" problem or a VW problem and is there a plan to fix it? Quote Link to comment

dat
juice: please do not jump on the band wagon with regards to my questions on standards...i fear that your aggressive and demeaning method for asking questions may scare off the "tech" that would normally help me ... Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted August 8, 2001 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted August 8, 2001 There is no AIA standard for colors or line weights. The only AIA standard is for layernames, which for us translates best into class names. The National CAD Standards do have a standard pen table, but this is really for AutoCad. Quote Link to comment
Leslie
Robert- 1. Those line weight/color attributes that are for AutoCad would certainly be helpful info for those of us that need to coordinate with ACAD drawings. Can you post them in atleast a text file for us? 2. ACAD aside, is the only reason you haven't incorporated the ability to have class attributes be included in the modify layers & classes function because there are no "official" standards? What about the user's own standards? This would be a really valuable plus - even if you just could release it as a seperate external function for the user to run.
