Curved lines and DXF/DWG exports

Recommended Posts

Hello,

We have been working with a colleague who works in AutoCad. We prepare and export small drawing elements -- trim profiles, terra cotta window sill blocks, etc. -- that they drop in to the overall exterior elevations they have prepared.

They say that our files, which are tiny because they are only these discrete elements, are coming in as huge files. They say our curved lines are coming in to AC as splines. Should we be converting our curved lines to some other format before exporting, to avoid this problem? (I assumed the DXF conversion process in VWA would convert things like this, if required, but maybe not.)

We are using VWA 8.5.2, on a MAC. They are using AC2000. (We have VWA 9, but are not using it at this point on this project, until the update is received.)

Thanks for any help you might offer.

Try the export in 9. I thinkg you find that it works much better.
