zeno
Good morning. I would like to ask if this procedure is correct: I want to connect some lights to a sloped truss. In top / plan view they seems connected correctly, but in 3d it is not verified. Does this mean that you have to redo the connections twice? If you redistribute the lights from top view the connections are not easily controllable. How should you proceed correctly? Thanks Connecting lights on angled truss_L.mp4 Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee TomWhiteLight Posted January 6, 2021 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 6, 2021 I find this method easiest.... Notice how the rotation values apply to the orientation of the fixtures. Rotate Truss.mp4 1 Quote Link to comment
Pier Luigi
Hello Tom so you are suggesting that the tool modes that allow to create an angled truss are not intended to make trusses to attach lights? With regards Pier Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee TomWhiteLight Posted January 29, 2021 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 29, 2021 Hi Pier, No you can attach lights to pre-existing raked trusses, in a 3d view you can snap a light to a raked truss. However I find it much easier to create these exactly how I used to in real life in my previous career. Then once assembled, flown and rotated into position. 1 Quote Link to comment
