Shed Layout

I need to layout a simple shed 12x16 showing floor wall and roof framing.  Can someone link me to some good videos on how to do it the simplest way which will show the dimension of the lumber.

@Landartma what version of Vectorworks are you using?

If you have Architect or Designer, it's a 5 minute job.

Rectangle, create objects from shape(walls), create roof, fit walls to roof, create objects from shape (slab), wall framer, roof framer, done

Of course you have to have your wall, roof, and slab styles sorted.

Additionally, you have to be familiar with the framer tool settings.

@Landartma does that have a wall and roof framing tools in it?  I'm doubting it does.

Do you need something like the example I posted or are you looking for 2D solutions?

I'd like to see something like what you posted.  I have building shell and detailing tools.

@Landartma if you send me a some drawings of how you want the wall styles, roof build up, and framing type developed, I can throw it together for you in using the VWX framing tools.

Thanks Jeff that's very generous.  This is an exercise I want to do as a matter learning the software.  I am guessing that I will need to use a combination of building shell tools, lines and offsets.  This pic is for our local building department and likely does not need to be super detailed but I'd like to know what it takes to draw it up in Landmark.  I will be meeting with my trainer on Monday and will have him help me with it.   

 

How do landmark users lay out and spec. a deck?

I think I can use the building shell tool to create the basic shape.  I would be interested in laying out the floor, joists, rafters, windows and doors though.  I touched on it previously with my trainer but just need to fill in some gaps.
