Frequent crashes with 2021 ?

John Brooks

Question

Is it my imagination OR does it seem like VW 2021 crashes a lot more than VW 2020 ?

I will admit, I am a fairly new VW user. Been using it since May 2020. I started out with VW 2020 on a new IMac:

  Model Name:    iMac
  Model Identifier:    iMac19,1
Processor Name:    8-Core Intel Core i9
  Processor Speed:    3.6 GHz
  Number of Processors:    1
  Total Number of Cores:    8
L2 Cache (per Core):    256 KB
  L3 Cache:    16 MB
  Hyper-Threading Technology:    Enabled
  Memory:    32 GB
  Boot ROM Version:    1037.140.50.0.0
  SMC Version (system):    2.46f13

And I don't remember as many crashes when I was using VW 2020. With 2021, it seems like crashes are a daily event. Sometimes multiple times per day. I have set my autosave to 15 minutes - but still, I do seem to be losing work. Which I am not happy about.

Anyway, I am open to the idea that it is user error. But I am also wondering if others are having the same problems I am having ? Should I go back to 2020 ?

Or should I just give up and get a REVIT license ?

We are currently following up on a similar crash reported by other user. Can you all provide us with the crash logs please?

Crash logs instructions

Juan,

Is there an email address to send these to?  I see a few logs at that folder location - but certainly not as many as I would expect.

I always allow the dialog box that pops up to send a crash report. I just assumed these were being sent to Vectorworks?
