Laura Stone
When I create a hardscape it defaults to a floor in a building stor(e)y and I can't find a way to allocate it to 'site' so that it exports to IFC with the rest of my model. Does anyone know if this can be fixed? Thanks Laura Stone Quote Link to comment
Jeff Prince
I'm pretty new to the whole ifc export and far from an expert, but here are my steps: 1. create site model and hardscape on different design layers as required, do not affliate them with stories. 2. create structures on appropriate design layers, affliate with appropriate stories to control the structure's wall heights, etc. 3. assign IFC properties to the features as needed. 4. Export, configure the layer mapping as appropriate for the site and building design layers Is it possible you are placing your hardscape on a design layer which is affiliated with a story or not mapping the layers correctly? When I first started experimenting with this feature, a fellow community member here was kind enough to point out my objects had no IFC properties set 🙂 It's always the simple things. Laura Stone
I think it was because I had started drawing the hardscape with the default settings to 'no fill', then added the fill afterwards. It only seems to work if fill is selected BEFORE drawing the hardscape. Still calling itself a 'floor' which seems a bit misleading for a lawn and I'm unable to change that.
