LeeElston
I've viewed most of the video tutorials but don't think I've seen anything giving guidance on how to draw steelwork where a single member such as a column will straddle several layers or stories..... Is it simply a matter of drawing a different piece of steel at each level so you can control visibility, and accepting that if this is put into a schedule it will show several short pieces of steel rather than one long one? If anyone knows if there is a guide if they could point me in the right direction it would be appreciated..... Quote Link to comment
Guest Wes Gardner
@LeeElston, that is certainly one method...you could also create an "All Stories" layer. Don't place it in any story and set the elevation at 0'-0" and then model the steel full height. This layer can then be left "on" for any plan view. Wes Quote Link to comment
LeeElston
Seeing as the stair tool allows objects to have different visibilities on different layers, could the same feature be added to the steel column tool?.... Quote Link to comment
