Andy Broomell
Looks great! Can I ask why such an accurate model was needed? Quote Link to comment
digitalcarbon
its part of a ss fabrication for a shop. They are going to modify it and use it for a cover for some electronics...so I need to make shop drawings showing the location of holes and such and that it has enough clearance etc....so I modeled it in VW but exported it to Onshape... VW has a better way of tracing over an imported image than Onshape...since tracing is 2d with an image below.. 2 Quote Link to comment
digitalcarbon
I guess that is the down side of 3d...once you start then everything in the model need to be shown so BOMs can be made etc...one could have just made a graph paper sketch but then you have this single paper sketch that is outside the 3d model universe then it gets forgotten... digitalcarbon
obviously a plaster casting would have been more accurate but I did not need that level of precision. Quote Link to comment
