Kevin K
I was wondering if some brave soul could do me a little favor. I noticed that file sizes in VW 2020 were 1/2 the size of 2019 files. Not sure how they pulled that off. It was a game changer in my world. But my question is from 2020 to 2021 are file sizes further reduced? I didn't upgrade to 2021 for several reasons, so I am unable to test it myself. Thanks in advance -Kev Quote Link to comment
zoomer
VW 2020 files are smaller as they use some file compression like DWG. VW 2021 files should be larger again if you activate View Caching. Quote Link to comment
Kevin K
zoomer Interesting....too bad they didn't keep that same paradigm for 2021. Thanks for responding and confirming. Quote Link to comment
zoomer
VW 2021 should be still smaller than pre-VW 2020 files. Which is fine. That Viewport Caching for faster OpenGL view loading of larger projects is also cool. So I think it is ok to get some extra files size for that. Haven't looked at it but would not expect lots of size increase. VW Files are mainly so large because they include all resources, like image textures. Which most CADs reference externally.
