Mark Fleming
What is the best way to create a masonry garden wall (non-retaining)? Is there any advantage for using the VWLandmark wall tool over the VWArchitect wall tool? I then want to cut portals through the wall; large circles cut through the wall to allow viewing beyond. What tool is best for this cut? Thank you Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted December 7, 2004 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted December 7, 2004 Since you want to cut openings, and the walls are not retaining walls, you should use wall objects. Any symbol can be inserted in a wall and will cut an opening equal to its 3D geometry. Go to front view, draw a circle and extrude it, make this a symbol, then insert the symbol into a wall. Mark Fleming
This is another way: Create the wall and the symbol as Robert describes above. Then select both objects in Top/Plan view and follow the directions for "Subtract Solids" on page 11-16 of the V11 user guide Quote Link to comment
