ijpdesign
I am trying to bend a piece of steel 3/8" x 1 1/2" for legs of a table. I draw the rectangle and extrude along the leg path, my problem is where the extrusion ends there is a taper on the leg. I have tried keeping the profile and locking with no luck. Any suggestions would be a great help Quote Link to comment
Inspectorjack
Draw path long. Use a rectangle prism to subtract solid to make flat surface across both legs. Quote Link to comment
Art V
You got one end horizontal, so another option could be to model only half of the object so that you have two straight ends, one horizontal and one vertical. Mirror it horizontally over the vertical edge it and then merge the two halves into one single object. Quote Link to comment
axhake
If you have the leg path why can't you just create the side profile that you are trying to achieve and just extrude it? Quote Link to comment
Kevin McAllister
If the profile you're extruding along the path is only a rectangle and the path is in a single plane, I think I would just draw the side view of the shape and extrude it using the Extrude command. There are lots of advantages to this method including correct end shapes (the other's include snap-able geometry, easy editing later on, lower overhead). Alternately, just cut off the extra bit using the Split Tool. Kevin 1 Quote Link to comment
