point in parametric object inside other object boundary?

Recommended Posts

In a parametric object is there a way to tell if a point inside the parametric object is in the boundary of another object not in the parametric object?

Here's my confusion.  Will the point in a parametric object know where it is relative to the rest of the world?  Or just relative to its own insertion point?

Back to the function reference…

You need to get the insertion point of the PIO using GetSymLoc() then add the internal offset within the PIO to that.

You also need to take into account the PIO’s rotation. RelativeCoords can help with that.

Also, make sure to keep straight whether you’re translating the external point to the plug-in space or the other way around.
