Christiaan
Anybody else running macOS 11 Big Sur beta and Vectorworks 2020 and 2021? I've not come across any problems myself yet. Quote Link to comment
zoomer
Same here. Big Sur since Public Beta start. VW 2019 seems to have some issues and lags. In VW 2020 I didn't notice any issues beside 1 crash, a few days later came VW 2020 SP5 and since I don't see anything unusual. Same for VW 2021. 2 Quote Link to comment
Christiaan
That's great. I'm just about to pull the trigger on Beta 8. Quote Link to comment
Administrator JuanP Posted September 22, 2020 Administrator Share Posted September 22, 2020 @Christiaan If you want to wait our R&D team is doing acceptance test on Beta 8 and VW 2021 1 Quote Link to comment
zoomer
I read about it and iWorks Update a few hours ago and tried to update but no updates offered. Going into each iWork App separately finally showed update. Not for Big Sur but now I see it is there. Quote Link to comment

zoomer
Well, if I watch my download rate, RND tests may be finished in time ... 1 Quote Link to comment

zoomer
Embarassing Germany is so much falling behind european countries in Internet services. Same cost for just 50/10 Mbits. But Apples Upload Server seems to be more on the Modem side anyway. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Ian Lane Posted September 22, 2020 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted September 22, 2020 Hi all, If you are running VW 2019 I would highly recommend NOT to upgrade at this time, as zoomer noted above there are issues with Big Sur in 2019. If you are running VW 2020 make sure that you have SP5, this has some critical crash fixes for Big Sur. The initial release of VW 2021 will be fine to use based on our testing. But as Juan mentioned, Apple is still releasing new betas, so you never know if something will break...proceed with caution! Thanks again for continued testing and feedback, Ian 2 Quote Link to comment
zoomer
^ Additional, I only risked that Beta because I still have a bootable Mojave SSD AND a Windows machine in case anything gets wrong. Just for me everything went so well that I never ever thought about getting back to Mojave. Edited September 22, 2020 by zoomer Quote Link to comment
Tom Miller
Any updates to this issue? I'm Running a new 16" Mac Book Pro with VW 2021, SP2. Still on Catalina, 10.15.7. wondering if it is good idea to upgrade to Big Sur. I get occasional crashes, various circumstances including editing within a viewport or the hatch window. The are frozen beachball crashes requiring force quit, very time consuming. Also, the fan comes on sometimes when I start up VW, without any hard rendering or task. Optimist in me thinks these problems will diminish if I upgrade. Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
hi Tom, do you have a thunderbolt drive connected? Quote Link to comment
Tom Miller
I don't have any external drives connected yet. Backing up to old computer for now. I'm shopping for a back up disc with USB-C connection. Why do you ask? Quote Link to comment

Wendy Santiago
Hello, I've yet to download VW 2021. Based on my computer specs, do you think I'll have issues? Like everyone, I don't have time for them. Thank you, Wendy Quote Link to comment
