axhake
Is there a reason why mesh objects are selected when partially within a marquee area, all other object types obey the section mode – see video below. selection.mp4 Quote Link to comment
0 zoomer
I don't know the reason but asked about that many years ago. Nothing changed so far .... Quote Link to comment
0 axhake
it's annoying isn't it, especially when you are trying to work quickly. Not sure if you had submitted this as a bug but I just did so as to remind them this is still a problem to be fixed. 1 Quote Link to comment
0 Art V
Apart from noticing something odd when editing a mesh object, it seems it is recognizing the parts of the mesh as individual items (notice the two anchor points showing up when selecting, by test gives the same with anchor points) so that if one of those parts falls within the selection boundary it gets selected. Because the mesh object is basically a group it may as a result of selecting that one part also select the entire group as a result. With a "regular" group of two 2D objects and covering only one of those with a selection window this does not happen. Whether my guess about the why of the selection is correct or not, it is undesired behaviour. Edited September 20, 2020 by Art V Quote Link to comment
