I've taken to making my own colored icons as well.

Here's how:

On a mac: Select the VW app > Get Info > Select the tiny icon in the top left corner of the "Get Info" window > Copy

Open Preview: Select "New from Clipboard" > Export as a PNG with the Alpha channel checked

Open in a photo editor and change the colors  > Save as a PNG

Open the PNG - copy the image > Open the VW App "Get Info" and paste the image into the same top icon location

Or just borrow the one posted above...

Sure.  These are the steps I used - there might be a more efficient way:

1) Find the icon on the start menu - right click - select "More" - and select "Open File Location"

2) In the explorer window that opens - right click on the Vectorworks shortcut file - and select "Properties"

3) At the bottom of that screen you should see "Change Icon"

4) Navigate to the .ico file you want to use.  (lots of free .ico converters online).

DONE

I gave up and got used to have this :

Totally recognize this. Which is why I have resorted to running only the latest version and  if necessary sometimes also the second latest version for stability purposes for a few months. Though in my case when the latest version is installed I tend to only use that one anyway.

Yes, I should clean up.

Never more than 2 versions, current + previous on my machine.

Sometimes I forget when installing new versions.

But I need 3 times C4D anyway.

R19 - last version with VRAY

R20 - last version with non-cumbersome licensing system

R21- as I got it while still in maintanance contract period.

🙂

OK, and for the others I may need 1-2 Betas though.

But at least I should clean up my Dock.

Longer term would it be possible to set versions to understand when the file is another version is opened and offer up an option to open in the suitable version as well as the current options to convert or cancel?

@Matt Overton  YES!! Please. dear uh-whichever-non/deity-you-prefer YES!

Countless minutes spent in closing and re-opening through 'open with…' or other nonsense.

Hey @fabrica I took the liberty of taking your *.png image file and making an *.ico of it to share so others don't need to convert it.

I love the colour you chose.  Thanks for sharing.

This is a PC file folks.  Use @Tom Klaber method above to change your versions icon.

Having to much fun now.  Here is one more.  GET BACK TO WORK YOU SLUGS!
