background fading

Should be simple - but cant find it...I use a colored rectangle in the background as my turf when doing a 2D design. id like for the edge to fade out instead of a line border.  how do i do this?

you could use a gradient with a radial or rectangular type and fade it to transparent.

This can be doe using viewports. Copy your VP turn all layer off but the Turf. Then Set to Open GL. Then Apply Image Affects and set a blur to the turf edge. In the other VP turn off the turf layer and align both. This is a really Wonderfull graphics trick. Have fun!!
