barnes2000
@Rob Books Is there a way yet to connect vertical or angled pipe to a truss system? The Insert Connection tool only allows top or bottom connections. I'm looking for a trick to side mount pipe to a truss system. VE? 3 Quote Link to comment
A.D.K.
Bump because I would love to know the answer to this as well. It looks suspiciously like you're trying to draw the exact same s60 softbox I am. Also by your signature, we're basically desktop twins (only mine's "SUPER"). We should talk lol Quote Link to comment

I think the workaround for now might be custom geometry with a truss record attached but I will need to do some tests. All the best Tom W Quote Link to comment

bennetwaldt
Hi there, I know this post is already five years old, but I'm currently facing the exact same issue. Has a solution been found in the meantime? Best regards, Bennet Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee TomWhiteLight Posted May 6, 2025 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 6, 2025 The solution is to create the pipe as a custom piece of truss. Quote Link to comment

Just came across this post - I'm looking for a similar solution to attach a pipe on top of a truss so that it cantilevers off the front and back to attach lighting fixtures. Hopefully this new tool in 2026 will allow what I'm asking? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee TomWhiteLight Posted July 3, 2025 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted July 3, 2025 It will, You can also currently do this specific workflow with insert connection though. 1 Quote Link to comment

Will braceworks calculate the load of the pipe & fixtures added to the truss? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee TomWhiteLight Posted July 7, 2025 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted July 7, 2025 will it attach with Cheeseboroughs at the front and back chords? If you check 'use symbol' and create a symbol for this purpose (see screenshot above) "Will braceworks calculate the load of the pipe & fixtures added to the truss?" Yes, it should do.
