MEP Circuiting Tool Can't See Objects

When I try to use the circuiting tool, I can select my first outlet, but all subsequent clicks, no matter where, ask if I want to create a home run.  This is my first time using this too, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Are you able to select your outlets/receptacles with the selection tool? Can you confirm that the different objects are all on the same layer and it is also your active layer?

 

If one of these doesn't address it - Can you copy just the objects in question into a new file and upload it here so we can take a quick look?
