design layer viewport layer names

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

we have our original building 'plan' file which contains all the building plan information in it stacked vertically like you would traditionally. we then reference via a DLVP into another file ('the sheet') and use the DLVP to turn on the layers we want to see which seems to be working very well and keeps the sheet file very tidy. however, if we change any layer names in the plan file, the reference sometimes seems to pick u on the change but sometimes it fails to find the layer due to the name change.

This means a lot of forward thinking is required when setting up a file (we often have lots of floor variations that dont get defined at the start)

is there anyway to help vectorworks link the missing layer name. sort of like a find and replace? its quite annoying to have to redo all the viewports otherwise
